How Hard Things Are
How are you feeling today? I mean, how are you really, truly feeling, mind, body & soul?
Take a few moments to answer honestly. I have a sneaky feeling you may just find—like many of us—that deep down, you’re a little exhausted, on edge, & possibly frustrated or even completely overwhelmed.
The past few years have been like getting knocked down by a rogue wave. You don’t know which way is up, everything’s swirly, murky & feels out of control.
At least, that’s how it’s felt for me, but I know I’m not alone in this. People are tired. Stressed. Overwhelmed. Barely holding on. And scared to admit it.
We’ve all been affected by the pandemic in some way. There’s war happening right now & atrocities being committed. Many of us haven’t seen overseas family in years because of travel restrictions. It’s tough out there.
Work is the same. There’s more competition and more saturated markets now that more people are working online. Which only leads to higher stress levels. I’ve been in business for over 17 years and I’ve never had to work as hard as I have to now.
There’s a lot of positivity online, motivational posts, inspirational quotes. But nobody talks about the behind-the-scenes stuff. The struggles, the tears, the frustration. Which can lead to you feeling like a terrible entrepreneur if you’re having a hard time & everyone online looks like they’re doing great!
You know what? Never mind those quotes that tell you to buck up & look on the bright side. It’s okay to feel tired. It’s okay to feel worried. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
There’s nothing wrong with you!
This is hard. Being in business for yourself was hard 5 years ago. It’s harder now. And it’s really not easy to just make the decision to work with a coach to gain momentum when you’re feeling worthless & useless & worried & perpetually tired & multiple other things.
Have you had some of the same feelings?
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. Take a day, an hour, for yourself. Reflect. Consider how far you’ve come, the amazing things you’ve accomplished. Participate in some self-care! Book a massage, take a nap, go for a run… Whatever you need.
We need to shift the mindset. Wins aren’t the only important thing. Effort is important too. We need to start taking better care of ourselves & celebrating our efforts, not just “victories”.
You’re doing it. You’re pushing through. No matter how you’re feeling. No matter how hard it is. Every step is cause for celebration.
How can you take better care of yourself & celebrate your efforts today? 👑
